The Mammoth Revenue of Google

In 2010, Google had $29.3 billion in revenue. This is more than the GDP of the 28 poorest countries... combined!

Last year, Google pulled in over 29 billion dollars of revenue. To give you a better idea of just how large that number is, think of it this way: if you took all of the money in the 28 poorest countries in the world and added them all up, Google made more than that total combined. Even though Google has a wide range of products and services, from email to book catalogs, it still makes most of its money via advertising networks.

One content delivery system that Google has undertaken a large advertising initiative with is the mobile platform — specifically, mobile phones. Last year, a little over five and a half billion dollars of Google’s total ad revenue came from advertisements delivers to mobile phones. Google’s mobile phone advertising revenue is showing no signs of slowing down, as key market analysts expect that number to double again by next year.
